You play as soldiers guarding a secret research facility in the Zaslavl Republic.

The Zaslavl Exclusion Zone research facility was built before the war. It was used to study anomalies and artifacts. Over time, these artifacts sparked conflict between military blocs. Neither side could allow them to fall into the hands of the other, which ultimately led to nuclear war.
