3. To determine tin in the alloy, a calibration graph was constructed. Based on the following data:
Concentration of standard Sn solution, μg/cm3 2.0 4.0 6.0 8.0 10.0
Optical density at 283 nm 0.160 0.320 0.480 0.640 0.800
A 0.50 g sample of the alloy was dissolved in a mixture of acids and transferred to a 250 cm3 measuring flask. The resulting solution was diluted 25 times and the optical density was measured, which was 0.680. Determine the mass fraction of tin in the alloy.
