“Elena Poplyanova lives in the Urals, in Chelyabinsk. He writes music very different: from simple songs for children to symphonies and instrumental concerts.
I must say that Lena is just a very good composer.
She graduated from the Petersburg Conservatory (she studied with Vladislav Uspensky), and her music is often played in our city. For example, recently in the Small Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, her vocal cycle to the verses of Anna Akhmatova was performed.
The creativity of Elena Poplyanova, no doubt, was influenced by her union with Viktor Kozlov. Because it is impossible, having such a guitarist and composer, not to write music for the guitar! And Lena writes!
She has a Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra. Adagio for Antonio Vivaldi (where the flute is added to the guitar), Sonata for solo guitar, many beautiful guitar pieces for children. And of course, it is impossible in such a wonderful family duet (a family of two composers is generally a rarity!) Not to make the guitar sound in some special way. This is what happens in Lena's music.
The pieces for a trio of guitars presented in this collection are among the most beautiful, in my opinion, works by Elena Poplyanova for a guitar ensemble. "
