In Killing Floor 2, players find themselves in continental Europe, where an outbreak caused by a failed experiment by Horzine Biotech is spreading rapidly and reaching massive proportions, paralyzing the European Union. Just a month after the events of the original Killing Floor, the specimens have overrun everything, and civilization is in crisis. Communications are down, governments have fallen, and military forces are being systematically wiped out. The people of Europe know a thing or two about survival, and the lucky few who remain alive have gone underground. But not all hope is lost... A group of mercenaries and civilians has banded together to fight the outbreak. They have established bases across Europe. Tracking the spread of the infection, players will visit hotspots teeming with "Zeds" and must eliminate them.

• A massive arsenal – it wouldn't be the same without it. There is a huge variety – from prehistoric slingshots to 21st-century weaponry.
• A new level of brutality – exactly what we expect from any horror game. According to the developer, there will be a new blood system featuring blood that oozes, runs, splashes, and spurts from the limbs you hack off and the bodies of the rotting creatures.
• Enemy overhaul: zombies won't just stand still; alongside familiar foes, you'll encounter new ones with unique traits. Naturally, their dim-witted—yet somehow still functioning—brains have been upgraded; they will now gather in groups and flank you rather than simply charging straight at you.
• New combat system: allows for controlled slashing and hacking.
• Plus: a variety of new perks that complement the existing ones.
• All of this is enhanced by updated physics, graphics, and sound.
